The Book of Job (In Four Panels)

I always liked the fact that God never really answers Job's question, not even mentioning the whole thing about making a bet with Satan to prove that Job really is righteous. I mean, God flat out says that Job is righteous at the beginning of the book, but does He give Job so much as a pat on the back before tearing into him for four freaking chapters? Nope. Because when you get down to it, God didn't fuck up Job's shit because He made a bet with Satan. He did it because He's God.

So yeah. Bad things happen to good people because they're too dumb to understand why it's necessary.

Man, these panels have a really weird aspect ratio.

And here's Josh and Tae of Showbread talking about some random nonsense:

Bodacious Grace

So, christians try to engage with the popular culture, with varying degrees of success. Because sometimes it's like "Hey guys, maybe it's time to branch out musically from the pipe organ" and sometimes it's like this:

I am sure (I hope?) these people mean well, but seriously. WRRRRRRYYYY. The Perry Bible Fellowship sums the whole phenomena up in a nutshell.

For balance's sake, I give you The Ambassador a christian rapper who will not make you want to tears your own ears out:

The First in an Exciting New Series

If you don't get this joke, you are probably foreordained to perdition.

I have never gotten a good ending for a choose-your-own-adventure novel without cheating.

Then, without warning, a wild Derek Webb attacked!

Hey Guys! Politics!

Lynn hates Obama so much that her brain will not allow her to pronounce his name correctly (ie I fail at spelling).

I don't have anything against Obama. He's just not a magical shiny political unicorn that will solve all our problems, nor the evil sum of all fears who wants to kill your grandma. He's just this guy with a really shitty job.

Also: 50th comic!

Four Non-Evil and Humane Inventions of Mohammed (Peace be Upon Him)

It goes without saying that this is tongue in cheek, and not meant to denigrate anyone's beliefs. It should go without saying, given the frequency with which I make fun of my own faith and culture. And yet, since I'm making jokes about something from the outside this time, it may be appropriate to emphasize that this was written in the spirit of silliness.

I went with the horribly overt stereotype strategy so that hopefully no one would confuse a comic with an actual thought-out commentary on an entire religion.
